We used Mesquite Landscaping to turn our barren dirt backyard, into what we envisoned. I met with Pat and gave him the design I had scribbled on a piece of note paper. He got back to us with the 3D design pictures and quote quickly. He made us feel most comfortable with the details of the quote and that we were going to get what we wanted. Once we signed the contract, our job was added to the schedule just a few weeks later. Most of the job was completed in five days. We had an entertainment wall with a gas fireplace put in on one end of the patio. They extended our patio and added pavers, a firepit, a bar, a seat wall and graduated size and height planters, stone, boulders and plants. The job would have been done other than having stucco painted, however we decided to add rock facing to all the features. The 3rd party that did the rock got concrete on the new pavers. Mesquite tried three times to clean it, even though they didn't do the rock, but were unsuccessful, so they ate the cost and replaced a large portion of our pavers. So our job wasn't without a hickup, but I think the fact that Mesquite made it right speaks highly for them as a company with integrity that takes pride in their work and cares for their customers. I would recommend Mesquite Landscaping and chose them in the future if I ever had to do it again.

This was such a great experience!
From the estimate to the end of the job.
We had our block wall extended about 40'. Our current wall is about 20 years old, and a brown in color. Mesquite was able to find an almost exact match so the wall looks like it has always been there. Seamless.
Thank you Mesquite Landscaping (Pat, Cris, Jose and Crew).
We appreciate you!

It has been a great experience using Mesquite Landscaping for my backyard. I looked at many quotes from landscaping companies and found that Mesquite Landscaping was extremely competitive on pricing. Jonathon Tencza was very professional to work with and gave invaluable advice on everything from drainage and ascetics to useability and affordability. The project was impressively completed faster than scheduled and I can tell they take pride in their work. I will be recommending Mesquite landscaping to my friends and family who need landscaping services in the future.

Pat and Cris Hudgins (and the Mesquite team) have been an absolute pleasure to work with. This was our second project with them—Pat and Cris were quick to respond to any questions leading up to the project date and were very attentive with all of our concerns or requests. We would definitely love to work with them again in the future and I highly recommend their services for any type of landscape/hardscape installation.

Spoke to Pat and scheduled an estimate for a partial backyard remodel. After our initial consultation, Pat scheduled a Zoom meeting where we discussed the plans of our remodel. Surprisingly, the plans were very inaccurate and we spent much time going over what we wanted again. I though we had an understanding of what was going to be done and we were given an estimate of around 15K for over 2000 sq/ft of turf, paver work, drip line work and a concrete basketball court slab. The day the workers showed up they got busy and everything started off well. That was until my wife caught one of the workers urinating in our back yard. That was just the beginning of the insanity that I'm STILL going through. Where the basketball court is now I previously had a swing set with sand in it. Pat was specifically told we wanted the sand removed (because who wants a bunch of sand around their b-ball court). We also told Pat that we wanted to keep any left over quarter minus because we could use it to fill in around the b-ball court. Pat said we could have it since we paid for the material, but I'd have to move it myself because it wasn't part of the initial quote. Fair enough. I told him I'd move it myself but I wanted what was left over and he agreed. I was quite surprised when I went out front at the end of the day and all of the left over quarter minus was gone and taken away never to be seen again. However, my neighbor 3 doors down came by to thank me for the quarter minus he got from one of the workers for his horse shoe pit free of charge. WAIT...I'd have to move the product I paid for by myself, but Mesquite moved 8 wheel barrows full of my product to a neighbor 3 doors down free of charge without even asking me?? Apparently so. Once the job was "finished" I was doing a check with Pat and discovered that NOTHING was done with the drip system. Pat assured me that he would have someone fix it the next day, but he had to have final payment tonight. I paid him the final payment and that was the biggest mistake I've ever made. I also noticed a large seam in my turf and when I brought it up to Pat he said that the line was common upon installation, but once everything settled it would fade away after a month or so. So, fast forward almost a year later. My drip lines still haven't been installed properly and every time I call Pat I get the same old line of how he'll get someone out within a day or two but it still hasn't happened. Remember, this has been ongoing for almost a year. The few times that someone has been out to correct something that wasn't done properly, they show up unannounced, don't speak English and have no idea what they are suppose to fix and I'm somehow supposed to explain it to them. I still have a significant gap in my turf where the two seams meet in the middle. I have a ton of sand that was never removed as promised and my drip lines still haven't been fixed. I had a worker piss in my back yard and another worker give away materials I paid for to a neighbor when they wouldn't even move that material in my backyard for me. I EMPLOR ANYONE TO AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. They do not honor their word.

Yes, I am still frustrated after 4 years of multiple punctured water line repairs because you failed to bury the drip lines in several areas where I have 1” rock. Yes, I’m still frustrated after the “repairs” to my turf started to separate even worse than the lousy job you did to begin with. Yes, I’m still frustrated that many of my pavers are now dipping and uneven. Yes, I’m still frustrated that I paid your company $15K to do a half ass job. My concerns were never seriously addressed. Pat and his team did the bare minimum to get the job “done” and get outta dodge. I’ve had to pay other landscapers $100’s of dollars to repair the issues left behind by your workers. Every single one of them commented on the crappy job that was done. I just want to make sure everyone that reads reviews understands how poor of a job your company did and took 15K of my hard earned money. Yes, I’m still VERY frustrated.

Hi Duke,We’re sorry to hear that you’re still feeling this frustrated several years after your project was completed. We recall your installation from 2021, and while there were some challenges along the way, our understanding at the time was that the concerns you raised had been addressed. We know how important it is to feel heard and respected throughout a project, and we truly regret that your experience didn’t leave you with that impression. That’s never the kind of outcome we hope for with any of our clients. While there may be some differences in how certain details are remembered, we appreciate your feedback and remain committed to learning and improving wherever we can.Sincerely,Mesquite Landscaping Inc.

Their work seems lovely, they’re working on a neighbors yard. Piles were left day or two prior to job and literally covered nearly all of the road entrance. And it’s the corner house entering the community. Along with their 5 trucks that are blocking the whole other side of the road. Men are hauling butt to get the job done rapidly like literally running with wheel barrels. But dump products in driveway or something don’t inconvenience the neighborhood.
Response from the owner 1 year ago
Hi Geneva,Thanks for your feedback, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience. While we did need to place the materials on the road temporarily, we made sure not to block it entirely and confirmed there are multiple other routes in and out of the neighborhood. As you mentioned, our crew is working hard to move everything as quickly as possible. We truly appreciate your patience!– Lynn, Mesquite Landscaping Inc.

I recently had Mesquite Landscaping come out for a different project, and I needed them to add a two-foot extension on both sides of my driveway using pavers. Jonathan was always prompt in getting back to me, and his crew was terrific. Although they initially arrived with the wrong color pavers, they didn’t just install them. Once they realized the mistake, they quickly ordered the correct color and returned to install it on the same day. Their level of customer service truly exceeded what I’ve experienced lately. My driveway looks beautiful. Thank you so much!

My wife and I could not be any happier! Sal is a great guy, knowledgeable and friendly! He created a beautiful design for our backyard and even met us at the nursery to help us pick out plants and trees that were safe for our dog and my wife’s allergies.
The day of the project, the team was here at 6am and the job was completed by 3pm. They transformed our dirt back yard into a beautiful oasis with amazing trees, plants, turf and pavers.

Sal and his crew are committed to quality and aesthetics. We still can’t believe what an excellent job they did so quickly, efficiently and beautifully!

Highly recommend Sal to anyone that is seeking an upstanding, professional, creative and talented man that knows landscaping inside and out!

Good morning, this is something that I never do. I am reaching out to let you know this company Mesquite is good at what they do for the most part, however, follow-up; responding to customer calls, follow-up after build to ensure there are no issues is not important after they receive your check. I am SOO happy with my gorgeous yard. What I am NOT happy with is they never return a call when help is needed, or a question is asked? My landscape notes state that I have a gas line with permits and that it was included with my build. I bought new grill for patio, hired someone to build it and last week contacted a plumber (that I have always used - Parker and Son's) to connect the grill to the gas line. To my surprise, there are stubs, but no Gas Line, No permits, paperwork never filed, no one told me, no one gave me the option to correct - and now I have a pricey grill center sitting on my patio that cannot be used. It will not be an easy task to return. The plumber called Mesquite and did not receive a call back. The plumber called the city to verify the filed permit and inspection, there isn't one??? I have called Mesquite and left messages with answering service and still no return call? I was told they have a landscaping service that would help maintain my beautiful yard and that way everyone keeps working and I will have the maintenance completed when it’s needed? Nothing? can't make an appt. I have had friends give me recommendations, but the point is, why aren't you returning your clients’ calls? How do I resolve the issue of not being able to connect the grill to a line that does not exist, and was NOT permitted by experts? I am researching my options that best serves me to get this resolved, so if Mesquite would or Saul – the project manager would like to reach out to help resolve this, then that would be helpful. I am reaching out one last time.
